First Bank of Berne donates To South Adams Trails, Inc.

August 6, 2010

Berne, IN - First Bank of Berne has generously donated $25,000.00 to the South Adams Trails, Inc. (SAT) to help with the funding of the planned 10 ft. paved trail ideal for walking, biking and running between Berne and Geneva. Restricted to non-motorized use, the trail will also feature parking access with restrooms at trail heads located in Berne and Geneva.

SAT is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization directed by residents of Berne and Geneva. Grant funding has been received from Indiana Department of Transportation to build the first segments of the trail, however, a local match is required and a 10% match must be raised to qualify. Additional donations are needed for this worthwhile community investment that will improve the quality of life for the entire area. For more information contact Gregg Sprunger at 589-2151.
