Portland, Ind. – First Bank of Berne donated $1,500 to Secret Families Christmas Charity of Jay County. Secret Families Christmas Charity strives to bring the Jay County Community together. They work to gather resources and volunteers to provide Christmas for families that otherwise may not have Christmas. The families receive clothing, toys, household items, a family Bible, children’s Bibles, a gift card, and a Christmas tree. 

Secret Families Christmas Charity provided Christmas to 115 families in 2021. The money donated will offset the costs of items for families, wrapping paper, and other various expenses. Volunteers will gather to shop, wrap, and deliver items purchased. They hope to teach the next generation the importance of serving and giving back to the community.
