Statement on the Privacy of Customer Information
First Bank of Berne is committed to the security of your financial and personal information. We collect, retain, and use information about individual customers only when we believe it would be useful (and allowed by law) in administering our business. This information is obtained from application information, transaction information, and consumer report information.
First Bank of Berne may disclose the information described below to other parties (1) when that information is requested by you; (2) when it is needed to process or complete a transaction initiated by you; (3) when required or allowed by law; (4) when furnishing information to reputable credit reporting agencies; or (5) to provide services, products, or marketing on our behalf.
The information disclosed may include application information such as assets and income; identifying information such as name, address, and Social Security number; transaction information such as account activity, account balances, and purchases; and information from consumer reports, such as credit history.
First Bank of Berne is concerned about the accuracy of customer information and, therefore, we will not disclose nonpublic personal information about former customers after two years from the time they cease to be our customers. For the first two years, however, we may share this information in the same manner and to the same categories of other parties as we do with current customers.
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. We will do this only after we have entered into a contractual agreement, which prohibits the third party from disclosing or using the information other than to carry out the purposes for which we disclosed the information. We do not provide account or personal information to unaffiliated companies for the purpose of telemarketing or direct mail marketing other than described above. Thus, we have eliminated the need for you to "opt-out" of such transactions.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
First Bank of Berne makes disclosures to other nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Disclosure or the privacy of your information, you may call or stop in at any time
