Jenilee Bransteter has been in banking for 15 years. She earned a degree in Agribusiness and Applied Economics from The Ohio State University before attending the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Banking.

Jenilee was drawn to First Bank of Berne because she was looking for a career that allowed her to serve others. She says First Bank of Berne is a perfect fit. She enjoys the teamwork at First Bank of Berne.

As the business banking manager for Berne, Jenilee interacts daily with area business owners who she describes as the most driven and inventive people in our communities. She appreciates conversations with business owners regarding strategies, opportunities, and successes. She enjoys the opportunity to share her perspectives on financial ratios and key drivers of cash flow while offering services to support them in achieving their goals.

Jenilee lives in Ohio where she serves on the Board of Trustees for the Rockford United Methodist Church. She is also involved with the Berne Rotary Club in Berne.

Collin Affolder has been with First Bank of Berne since 2018 and also interned at the bank throughout college. He attended South Adams High School before earning a degree in Accounting from Bethel University in Mishawaka. He currently sits on the board for Habitat for Humanity of Adams County and helps teach Junior Achievement for first graders.

Collin says his favorite thing about his job is the variety – each situation is different. He welcomes the opportunity to help a new business get started and see the hard work of a business owner come to fruition. At First Bank of Berne, Collin is able to offer the same technology and features that larger banks have, while also providing a personalized, small-town feel.

Away from work, Collin enjoys spending time with family and playing all types of sports.

A native of the Berne area, Phil Goodwin joined First Bank of Berne in 2013. He was originally drawn to banking because he wanted to help other people achieve their financial goals.

Phil loves his community and getting involved. A Volunteer Firefighter for the town of Berne, he has also served as chairman for the Swiss Days planning committee.

Phil says he’s proud to work for an organization that genuinely cares about the well-being of their employees and the community. His favorite part of his job is being able to help business owners find efficiencies and create more opportunities to grow their companies.

In his free time, you can find Phil spending time with his wife and son, on the golf course, or cooking for family and friends.

Bethany Bailey began her banking career over a decade ago, working as a teller for First Bank of Berne. Her tireless work ethic, commitment to learning all aspects of banking, and exceptional care of customers led to several promotions over the years, including personal banker, branch manager, and now, business banking assistant. Bethany holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration — Management from Western Governors University Indiana.

An authentic servant leader, Bethany maintains she is fortunate to have discovered the values-driven world of community banking at the beginning of her career because she enjoys helping others. Providing innovative solutions to problems, answering questions, and empowering customers to realize their financial goals and dreams is work that she finds rewarding.

She is an active member of the community, and attends The Lighthouse Church in Monroe, Indiana, where she serves in several areas including hospitality, giving, and teaching. Bethany is also involved in Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana (JANI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing youth for success. As a volunteer for JANI, she teaches second grade students JANI’s curriculum for personal finance, work and career-readiness, and entrepreneurship.

A dedicated citizen, Bethany relishes working for a bank that truly cares about the local communities it serves, and that endeavors to promote the financial success of both people and area businesses. She counts it a privilege to be a part of First Bank of Berne’s team and company culture because they value the community in which she has chosen to live and raise her family.
