Berne, Ind. – First Bank of Berne and Gallery 15 & Studios, LLC, an area art gallery, have partnered to display local art in the bank’s Peru branch after the bank donated funds to support Gallery 15’s community art programs.

This past week, First Bank of Berne donated $1,000 to Gallery 15. The gallery was opened in Peru, Indiana in the Fall of 2017 by watercolorist, Sarah Luginbill and musician and ukulele builder, Ron Luginbill. Created to be an atmosphere for artists of various mediums, the gallery homes paintings, hosts music lessons and art classes, and prides itself in community outreach. Funds donated will be used for furthering community art and music programs in the area.

Additionally, the bank has designated a space in the Peru branch for Gallery 15 to display its artwork. Both parties hope to change out the art every few months, keeping the content new for bank visitors.

“Our Peru branch has a lot of open lobby space, which we initially were unsure how to make the best use of,” said Jennifer Ash, Peru branch manager. “The goal when we renovated the branch was to make it a space that was warm and welcoming to our community. We are excited to share some of that space with Gallery 15. While we still have an area designated to our customers, it’s great that we can also support a local business and community arts effort.”
