Portland, Ind. – First Bank of Berne donated $2,920 to Jay Community Center. Presenting the check is Tracy Carpenter, Portland First Bank of Berne Branch Manager and accepting the check is Kyle Cook, Jay Community Center Executive Director.

Jay Community Center is committed to strengthening the health and social interaction of our community’s families through sports, recreation, and fitness. They serve more than 100,000 visitors a year with programs and activities for people of all ages. JCC has been serving families of Jay County since 1953, providing an irreplaceable service for the community as a whole. 

The money donated to Jay Community Center will support Summer Day Camp, 5K Circuit Runs, Boomer Sports, and Senior Day. JCC has multiple fundraisers a year and the funds go towards providing affordable youth leagues, 20+ low cost senior activities, and a free facility for patrons to utilize. Supporting JCC means that they can continue to offer events and create new events that will further benefit the community.
