Berne, Ind. – First Bank of Berne donated $1,000 to the Berne Volunteer Fire Department. Presenting the check is Phil Goodwin, First Bank of Berne Business Banker and Treasurer for the Berne Volunteer Fire Department. Accepting the check is John Crider, Berne Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief.

The Berne Volunteer Fire Department has bravely served the Berne community since 1895. Their goal is to prevent loss of lives and protect property in case of fire, natural disasters, or other emergencies. They are dedicated to protecting the citizens of Berne and all who travel through the community.

The money donated to The Berne Volunteer Fire Department will go towards the Pancake, Egg, and Sausage Breakfast. This breakfast is a tri-annual event to raise funds to update equipment and continue to serve the community. This event is just one way the Berne Volunteer Fire Department is able to raise the money needed to serve the community.

To make a donation and eat a delicious breakfast, come to the Berne Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, May 14th. The Breakfast will be from 6 am-10 am. Free-will donations will also be accepted. If you cannot make the breakfast but would still like to donate, you can mail your donation to the Berne Volunteer Fire Department at 1230 Parkway St, Berne.
