First Bank of Berne closed all branches and its call center on Friday, November 10 in observance of Veterans Day. The bank’s employees, however, did not have a typical “day off.” Instead, they spent the day engaged in volunteerism within the local community.

Angela Paxson has more than a decade of experience in agribusiness. It’s this experience, along with her education, and commitment to the agricultural community, that make Angela a valuable member of the First Bank of Berne team. She is a graduate of Jay County High School and Indiana Wesleyan University, where she studied business administration. Angela is an active member of her hometown community, serving as Vice President of the Jay County Farm Bureau Incorporated Board, member of the Jay County Purdue Extension Board, and 4-H volunteer.

Brent Hickman is an active member of the community with a background in farming and animal husbandry. Brent is a graduate of Eastern High School and Purdue University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in animal agribusiness. Brent is involved in multiple community organizations and currently serves as the third Vice President of the Greentown Lions Club, Co-Chairman of the Howard County 4-H Fair Board Auction Committee, and as a member of the Howard County Farm Bureau Board.

Born in Chicago, Corina’s family moved to Tennessee where she received her Bachelor’s in Finance from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. She has had over 15 years of managerial and customer service experience. Corina worked 5 years for State Farm in Peru handling all lines of business including opening deposit accounts and loans.

Her biggest accomplishment has been helping her team members grow, and being able to offer exceptional customer service and financial advice. Erica has completed the Certified Branch Management Series through Indiana Bankers Association.
