First Bank of Berne Donates to Jay Community Center

January 31, 2026

Portland, IN. — First Bank of Berne is proud to support the Jay Community Center (JCC) with a charitable donation to further its mission of strengthening the health and social interaction of local families through sports, recreation, and fitness programming.

The Jay Community Center provides a wide range of opportunities for children, adults, and seniors to engage in meaningful, healthy activities. Through sports leagues, community events, and partnerships such as the Boys & Girls Club, JCC helps promote an active lifestyle and create spaces where families can connect, grow, and thrive.

This donation from First Bank of Berne will support key initiatives including the Summer Day Camp, 5K Circuit Runs, Boomer Sports, Senior Day, and the Boys & Girls Club. These programs offer youth development, wellness opportunities, and social engagement for residents of all ages across the Jay County area.

Representing the Jay Community Center at the check presentation were Kyle Cook, Executive Director, and volunteer Dale Ainsworth. Representing First Bank of Berne were Isaac Gorrell and Collin Affolder, Business Bankers; and Tracy Carpenter, Branch Manager. Boys & Girls Club children also joined the photo.

“We’re grateful for the incredible work the Jay Community Center continues to do for our community,” said Tracy Carpenter, First Bank of Berne Branch Manager. “Their programs help children learn and grow, provide adults and seniors opportunities to stay active, and bring families together. We are honored to support their mission.”
