Fraud Text Alerts

With fraud on the rise isn’t it nice to know First Bank of Berne is looking out for you. Our fraud monitoring system watches for suspicious activity and will notify you of any unusual transactions on your card.

Chip Cards
  • If a suspicious transaction appears on your card, you’ll receive a text alert asking if it’s legitimate.
  • Simply text back to confirm or deny the transaction.
  • Fraud text alerts will be sent by our fraud detection center with the identification number of 37-268
  • You are automatically enrolled
  • To verify that we have your correct mobile number please call 800.589.7848
  • The service is free.
  • Should you have fraud visit a branch and we will instantly issue you a new card

Frequently Asked Questions

I confirmed fraud on my card, what happens now?

You will receive a text confirming your response and a block will be placed on your card.  You can then stop by any First Bank of Berne branch where we will provide you with a new card immediately.

Why didn’t I receive a text alert but my card was blocked when I made a purchase late at night?

If a charge occurs before 8:00 am or after 9:00 pm (your local time), you will not receive a text until 8:00 am. In some cases your card may be blocked from further transactions until we are able to contact you. Our fraud monitoring department is available 24/7 at (877) 273-5740 for immediate assistance.

How do I submit a travel alert notification?

Travel alert notifications can be made by calling (800) 589-7848 from
8am to 5pm Monday-Thursday
8am to 6pm Friday
8am-12pm Saturday
All times are EST

How can I stop text messages if I don’t want to receive them any longer?

All you need to do is respond back to the text alert with the word "STOP."
