Portland, IN. — First Bank of Berne is pleased to support Pennville Community Park with a donation to aid ongoing revitalization efforts aimed at enhancing the community’s local outdoor recreation space.

Pennville Community Park is a public space in Jay County offering a variety of recreational amenities including picnic shelters, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, and a baseball field. The park serves as a central gathering place for local families and visitors, hosting outdoor events and providing year-round opportunities for leisure and community connection.

Representing Pennville Community Park at the check presentation was Tanner McClain, Pennville Park Board President and First Bank of Berne Mortgage Loan Originator. Accepting on behalf of First Bank of Berne were Deanna Walker, Assistant Branch Manager, and Angela Paxson, Agribusiness Banker.

This donation will support the organization’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the Pennville Park, helping enhance the space for community members of all ages. By contributing to the park’s improvement initiatives, the organization can continue creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for recreation, outdoor gatherings, and community activities.

“First Bank of Berne is proud to support initiatives that strengthen our local communities,” Tracy Carpenter, First Bank of Berne Branch Manager. “The revitalization of Pennville Community Park is an investment in families, outdoor spaces, and the future of our community.
