Portland, IN. — First Bank of Berne is proud to support the Jay County Humane Society with a donation that will help the organization continue its mission of providing safe shelter and compassionate care for animals in need.
The Jay County Humane Society is a small, non-profit, limited-admissions shelter dedicated to finding good homes for stray, abandoned, mistreated, and unwanted animals. Through community support and dedicated volunteers, the shelter works to ensure pets receive proper care, medical attention, and the opportunity for a better life.
The donation from First Bank of Berne will support the shelter’s operating costs, helping provide essential resources such as food, supplies, medical care, and daily needs for animals awaiting adoption.
Representing the Jay County Humane Society at the check presentation were Mindy Weaver, Board Treasurer; Linda Conn, Acting Director; Americus Milthaler, Shelter Manager; and Val Smith, Board President. Representing First Bank of Berne were Tracy Carpenter, Branch Manager, and Tanner McClain, Mortgage Loan Originator.
“The Jay County Humane Society provides an invaluable service to our community by giving animals a safe place to heal and find loving homes,” said Tracy Carpenter, Branch Manager at First Bank of Berne. “We are grateful for the work they do and are pleased to help support their ongoing efforts.”
