First Bank of Berne Supports Youth Service Bureau with Holiday Donation

December 12, 2025

Portland, IN — First Bank of Berne is proud to support the Youth Service Bureau (YSB) of Jay County with a donation that will help provide a meaningful Christmas for the organization’s residential youth, along with supporting recreational activities and outings throughout the year.

The Youth Service Bureau (YSB) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to promoting resiliency and assisting children, youth, families, and staff in achieving their greatest potential. Its vision is to help individuals and families heal from trauma, feel safe and included, and build on their strengths to enhance their quality of life. Through comprehensive support services and a trauma-informed approach, YSB creates a nurturing environment where young people can grow, recover, and thrive.

The donation from First Bank of Berne contributes directly to these efforts, making the holiday season brighter for youth care while supporting enriching experiences year-round that foster growth, independence, and connection.

Representing the Youth Service Bureau at the check presentation was PJ Corwin, Executive Director. Representing First Bank of Berne was Tracy Carpenter, Branch Manager.

“First Bank of Berne is committed to supporting organizations that make a difference in the lives of young people and families,” said Tracy Carpenter, Branch Manager at First Bank of Berne. “We are proud to support the Youth Service Bureau in their mission to create a safe, healing, and empowering environment for the youth of our community.”
