First Bank of Berne Donates to Enhance Programs at John Jay Center for Learning

December 29, 2025

Portland, IN. — First Bank of Berne is proud to support the John Jay Center for Learning with a charitable donation to further its mission of opening doors for learners of every age and stage.

The John Jay Center for Learning provides vital educational resources to the community, offering programs such as Adult Basic Education, English Language Learner courses, Robotics Camp, and a Senior Learning/Speaker Series. These programs equip individuals with skills, knowledge, and growth opportunities that enhance personal development and strengthen the broader community.

This donation from First Bank of Berne will help support the operating costs associated with these programs, ensuring they remain accessible to learners throughout the region.

Representing the John Jay Center for Learning at the check presentation was Rusty Inman, Executive Director. Representing First Bank of Berne was Tracy Carpenter, Portland Branch Manager.

“We are honored to support the John Jay Center for Learning and the incredible value they bring to our community,” said Tracy Carpenter, Portland Branch Manager. “Their commitment to lifelong learning empowers individuals of all ages, and we are proud to help ensure these opportunities continue to grow.”
