Portland, IN. — First Bank of Berne recently made a donation to the Jay County Historical Society to help cover costs for the Heritage Festival and bring the annual event to the community.
The Jay County Historical Society works to preserve Jay County’s history and keep it accessible to the people who live here. The Heritage Festival gives families and residents a chance to learn more about the people, places and traditions that are part of the country’s past.
For First Bank of Berne, being a local bank is about more than serving customers through banking. It also means supporting the events and organizations that matter to the people who live here. Helping with the Heritage Festival allows the bank to play a part in keeping Jay County’s history accessible for local families to learn about and enjoy together.
Representing the Jay County Historical Society at the check presentation were Phil Rager, Co-President and Lori McIntosh, Treasurer. Representing First Bank of Berne was Tracy Carpenter, Portland Branch Manager.
“Jay County has a long history, and it’s rewarding to have Jay County Historical Society who care about keeping that history alive,” said Tracy Carpenter, Portland Branch Manager. “The Heritage Festival gives families a chance to come together, learn more about the place we call home and enjoy our community. We’re happy to be part of making that happen.”
