Portland, IN. — First Bank of Berne has provided a donation to the Jay County Cancer Society to help further its mission of easing the financial burden for cancer patients throughout Jay County.
The Jay County Cancer Society provides assistance to local individuals facing the financial challenges that can accompany a cancer diagnosis. First Bank of Berne’s contribution will help the organization continue providing financial relief to cancer patients in the county.
First Bank of Berne believes strong communities are built by people and organizations working together to care for one another. For individuals and families facing cancer, that support can be especially meaningful during an already difficult and uncertain time. Supporting organizations like the Jay County Cancer Society is one way the bank helps make a difference in the lives of people in our communities and contributes to the quality of life in the places we call home.
Representing the Jay County Cancer Society at the check presentation was Tisha Gierhart, Jay County Cancer Society Board Member. Representing First Bank of Berne were Angela Paxson, Agribusiness Banker, Tracy Carpenter, Consumer Banker.
“The Jay County Cancer Society is making a meaningful difference for people in our area who are navigating cancer and the financial challenges that can come with it,” said Tracy Carpenter, Portland Branch Manager. “We’re grateful for the work they do for Jay County residents and for the opportunity to contribute to their efforts.”
