Portland, IN. — As part of its ongoing focus on community involvement, First Bank of Berne has made a charitable donation to Jay County Christian Academy. The contribution supports efforts that bring people together, encourage engagement, and help create positive, lasting impact throughout the community.
Jay County Christian Academy provides students with an excellent, Christ-centered education that nurtures both academic growth and spiritual development. Through dedicated educators, faith-based instruction, and a supportive learning environment, JCCA partners with families to equip students with strong values, critical thinking skills, and a foundation rooted in Christian principles.
This donation from First Bank of Berne will help Jay County Christian Academy expand its facilities to include a gymnasium, additional classroom space, and offices. These improvements will allow JCCA to more effectively serve its students, their families, and the surrounding community while supporting continued growth and enhanced educational opportunities.
Representing Jay County Christian Academy at the check presentation were Jerry Nichols, Principal, Ben Nichols, Teacher, and JCCA students. Representing First Bank of Berne were Isaac Gorrell, Berne Business Banker; Tanner McClain, Mortgage Loan Originator; and Tracy Carpenter, Portland Branch Manager.
“We are honored to support Jay County Christian Academy and their commitment to providing an excellent education grounded in faith,” said Tracy Carpenter, Portland Branch Manager. “Their mission aligns closely with our values, and we’re proud to invest in a project that will benefit students, families, and the community for years to come.”
